Underwater Welding Specialist

Underwater Wet Welder Training

Commercial Diving Academy is the only U.S. school offering an internationally-recognized underwater welding program (Underwater Welding Specialist).  This one week advanced welding certifcation is available to certified commercial divers and offered upon completion of the Air/Mixed Gas program. commercial underwater welding

The Underwater Welding Specialist program is designed to allow students to certify underwater, as well as give them extra time welding underwater in addition to the time during the Air/Mixed Gas program. This is a 40 hour course and the prerequisite for this advanced training program is the Topside Welding Specialist program or the ability to pass a 3G welding qualification.

Upon completion, students may receive AWS D3.6 Underwater Welding Qualification Class C fillet welds, multiple positions available and certificate of successful completion of Underwater Welding from CDA.

  

 Course Outline

A hands-on intensive training program, designed for commercial divers serious about obtaining high quality underwater welds. Qualifications are awarded in accordance with AWS D3.6-99M.

The training is designed to equip commercial divers with the skills necessary to produce high quality fillet welds. Students will be introduced to all the relevant theory associated with the underwater welding process, together with relevant safe working practices, etc. Each specific topic is covered by a lecture where the learning outcome is clearly identified.

 

 

 

 

 

Length of Course

The program of Study at Commercial Diving Academy requires a minimum of 1 week. The maximum number of weeks a student may participate in training is 2 weeks.
